5 Checks Before Buying Ballet Shoes for Your Child

1. Ask the Teacher First

Confirm the required sole type, upper material and color. Choose the studio’s requested color rather than assuming pink, nude or black is suitable for every class.

2. Identify the Shoe Type

Soft ballet slippers come in full-sole and split-sole constructions. Follow the teacher’s requirements.

Dynadans Kids’ PU Ballet Dance Shoes have a full suede leather sole. Kids’ Canvas Ballet Slippers have separate leather forefoot and heel patches.

Half-sole pirouette shoes leave the heel open. Do not treat them as an automatic next step from regular ballet slippers; confirm their use with the teacher.

3. Check the Upper Material

PU is synthetic. Canvas and genuine leather are different materials. Read the selected product’s details and care instructions.

4. Keep Pointe Separate

Pointe shoes are for teacher-approved pointe training. New dancers should start in soft slippers unless their teacher has approved otherwise.

The Dynadans pointe model lists pre-attached ribbons and included silicone toe pads. These accessories do not establish readiness for pointe.

5. Measure and Try On

Measure both feet while standing. Use the longer heel-to-toe measurement and the exact model’s chart.

Try soft slippers indoors with class tights or socks. Toes should lie flat and the heel should stay secure. For sizing questions, contact info@dynadans.com with the product name and measurements.
